The smell of bacon, eggs, and fresh fruit floats around the restaurant. This is the usual at the Breakfast place “First Watch,” that replaced Famous Dave’s on U.S. 31.
“As soon as I got there, I could smell the food from outside, which just made me even more excited to go in. They have outdoor seating and a really pretty patio which is perfect to enjoy your breakfast at,”Junior Kaydence Nuener said.
First Watch is a corner-cafe located in Greenwood, that serves breakfast and lunch. They are known for their unique menu and calm atmosphere.
“It looked very modern, and clean. It also had a lot of technology which made it easier and quicker to order drinks and food.” Nuener said.
First Watch has quickly spread through the city of Greenwood, many people go multiple times a week.
“First Watch is so good that I try to go twice a week. It’s just such a nice space and the food is always good. I really enjoy it. My favorite thing on the menu is the Omelettes, because they are so filling,”sophomore Mattie Ramsey said.
First Watch has many food options. They do not only offer breakfast, they also offer lunch, which ends at 2:30 pm.
“Everything they have on the menu is good. They have avocado toast, which is my personal favorite. They also offer food options, like omelets, sandwiches, eggs, toast, bacon, pretty much everything.” Ramsey said.
They also offer creative drinks. These include the Morning Meditation juice, the kale tonic fresh juice, and the lavender haze.
“My favorite thing about the menu are the drinks. I love the lavender haze drink which tastes like purple lemonade,” freshman Gabe Wardy said.
The food is supposed to be healthy and nutritious, and they list all the health benefits on the menu to keep people aware of what they offer.
“I like to go to First Watch because not only is it good, but it is also very healthy. If you look at the ingredients, it contains all healthy food, like salads, omelets, sausage, and eggs.” Wardy said.
Since the food is so good, and they have many loyal customers. The wait times can be long at times.
“I would recommend getting there as early as possible because of the long wait. One time I had to wait about 45 minutes, which is not bad, but I would still say try to get there early,” Ramsey said.
