Homecoming hysteria kicked off with the dance and ended with a game threatened by rain.
Students enjoyed the red carpet Hollywood-themed dance with a DJ and popcorn machine in the auxiliary gym. Seniors James Williams and Lydia Crossman took home the title of Homecoming King and Queen while seniors Alex Kamer and Emma Gardner claimed senior prince and princess titles. Juniors Parker Dolin and Paige Glynn were honored as junior prince and princess, sophomores Jefferson Delmonte and Briar Simpson were crowned sophomore prince and princess, and freshman Jackson Davis and Addy Houseman won freshman prince and princess titles.
Then, students arrived on Monday dressed in their pajamas to kick off Homecoming spirit week. The next spirit days included Adam Sandler Day, USA Da, and Pink Vs. Blackout followed by Class Color Day on Friday although teachers won red in honor of Mrs. Bates’ passing.
Students then participated in the next Homecoming festivity: the parade and powderpuff event. In a sudden death finale, the senior class took home the powderpuff trophy, making it the second time the Class of 2025 has taken home a victory in powderpuff. Students also got to watch the powderpuff cheerleaders perform popular dances, such as the Dallas Cowboys Cheer routine and various other songs and remixes. The night ended with an exciting performance from the senior powderpuff cheerleaders after spectators waited for senior Nick Pruitt and Carter Chatham to arrive from a tennis match to perform their routine.
Homecoming week ended on Friday night under the lights with a 90-minute rain delay and an unfortunate loss to the Plainfield Quakers.
