The boys tennis season ended with a loss to Center Grove in the first round of Sectionals.
“We might have lost, but it was against a very good Center Grove team, and I am not at all mad about how the season ended,” senior Carter Chatham said.
Senior Aria Gokhale wrapped up his last tennis season with a great year of tennis.
“I think the season went pretty well. We had a bunch of great matches like Franklin and Center Grove. It was a fun time,” Gokhale said.
Although he was trying to have a fun time during the season he was still trying to accomplish his goals all year long.
“My goal for the season was just to try to learn the sport and try to get all of the basics down.”
Although this was his first year playing, he still had a lot to do with the outcome of the season.
“The main thing I could have done to help the outcome of the season is to encourage my teammates more,” Gokhale said.
Even though he might not have encouraged his teammates as much as he could have, he still believes he put the team in a great position to succeed in the future.
“I hope we put the team in a good spot for the future. The JV guys have been looking up to me and the seniors all year long,” Gokhale said.
The team agreed that the season ended up going well.
“I think that we would all agree that we had a pretty good season. We definitely could have done better and worked harder, but overall I think it was a good year,” junior Thomas Satterfield said.
“My goal was honestly just to make it on varsity and play as well as possible, and I think I played pretty good there.”
Although he made it on varsity and played pretty well, he still could have done a little more to prepare for the season.
“I feel like I could have done a little more during the summer just so I could have been more prepared,” Satterfield said.
Thomas was not the only junior leader on the team, there are many.
“I think the season went fine. It definitely could have been better, but I think we all had a pretty good time,” junior Aiden Walton said.“This year I really just wanted to get better at the basic things because it’s only my second year playing.”“I definitely met my goal, and I plan to continue to get better. I think most of us gave it our all and did the best we could have so I’m not upset about how we did.”
