nior Jayla Ciara has been thrifting for a long time. Thrifting has become a big part of buying clothes for so many people and has saved them a lot of money.
“The best item I’ve thrifted would have to be an 80’s Russell Athletic jersey that I got last year from Goodwill Outlets,” Ciara said.
There are a lot of good places to thrift around the 317 but Goodwill Outlet has got to be at the top of the list located on 927 N Emerson Ave, Greenwood, IN.
“The best place to thrift would definitely be a Goodwill Outlet because of the affordability factor and the efficiency of digging for your own items instead of pulling them off the racks, which makes it so much more exciting,” Ciara said. “The best time to go would be midday so you can avoid the traffic of people in the morning.”
There are a lot of different reasons people start thrifting, but for her it was the idea of getting vintage items.
“I started thrifting because I always had a thing for vintage items and I loved the fact that the clothes I thrifted are better quality than the ones that you can buy in a store,” Ciara said.
The Bins is another good place to thrift on 927 N Emerson Ave, Greenwood, IN.
“I would say The Bins is my favorite place to thrift because their prices are so much cheaper than other places,” senior Alex Skinner said.“I got this pretty cool Colts Super Bowl sweatshirt that’s got to be the best,” from the bins the first time I ever went thrifting and it is probably the reason why I started thrifting so much.”

People start thrifting in a lot of different ways but going with friends is what brought this great thing into his life.
“I went with friends one time that thrift very often after we went out to eat, and it was pretty fun even though they took all of the good stuff so I just kept going,” Skinner said.
Junior Braden Chase also was introduced to thrifting by friends.
“I first started thrifting a couple of years ago with my friends that usually just go to The Bins, and I have loved it ever since. I would say over half of my clothes are items I’ve thrifted,” Chase said.
Most of his items came from the Salvation Army.
“Out of all my thrifted items, most of them have come from the Salvation Army because of the condition that the clothes there are in,” Chase said.“My favorite item is a Ravens Super Bowl shirt that I got recently. It is in great condition and was only 15 dollars.
