One of the responsibilities of a good citizen is to donate time to help other people.
There will always be opportunities to volunteer and to help people. Everyone should prioritize making a difference by helping others’ needs locally or globally.
The biggest and most important reason that people should volunteer is because there are so many needs around the world. There are so many different types of volunteering. It does not have to be a huge trip to a foreign country to build a well; it can involve a small, local task, like picking up trash in a neighborhood. There is a volunteer opportunity for any skill. A lot of people have busy schedules, but volunteering can be for any length of time on any day. There are so many needs, and they’re hundreds of options to find the right fit.
Not only does volunteering benefit other people, but it is rewarding. I volunteer, and everyone I have worked with is so joyful to have the opportunity to help other people. There are a lot of benefits from volunteering. Volunteers get to witness the problems in the world and to see the difference they make. There is a great feeling when I see someone with a problem become appreciative when I am able to make life a little better. I volunteer at the Midwest Food Bank, and it has been a great experience to me. I help customers distribute food to food pantries in their area, and the customers are always thankful for the work I do to get them needed food. I also get to work with volunteers of all ages and have learned a lot from the older leaders. There is so much to gain from volunteering and spending time with new people.
One of the best groups in the school is the National Honor Society. This group requires volunteer hours to earn a spot in the organization. This is a great group that works together to find volunteer opportunities. Along with the reward that comes with volunteering, NHS and volunteering look great on applications for colleges and scholarships. Most of the promts that I have answered have revolved around me as a person and my service in giving back to others.
Many of my volunteer experiences have come from my church. I think serving a church is a great way to bring religion to the community. One of the purposes of my church is to bring people to Christ, and one of the best ways to do that is to be seen in the community helping and making a difference. I believe that serving others is a huge part of the Christian faith, and it has become my main reason for spending time helping people who need me.
I believe volunteering is meant for everyone. It should become a priority to make our community and world a better place. Places like food banks, hospitals, and churches always need volunteers, and it is not hard to find a way to make an impact.
