Ranked 2nd in the country for amusement parks, Kings Island entertains with their thriller rides and also their food, family fun, and also live entertainment.
Senior Alex Skinner loves the thrill of speed and height.
“The rides are the best part of Kings Island in my opinion. I love the adrenaline rush and the thrill of being that high in the air. The Oryan is my favorite ride because of the drop. I love rides that are more thrilling and are more dangerous,” senior Alex Skinner said.
The rides are popular favorites.
“I would say that my favorite thing about Kings Island would be riding the roller coasters. My favorite ride was the Banshee, which is my favorite because of how you are inverted on the drop. You get dropped while inverted, twisted upside down, go around tight curves and ups and downs,” senior Chris Lukins said.
Thriller rides are a fan favorite.
“The Banshee is my favorite ride because it throws you upside down and gives a good adrenaline rush,” senior Chloe Economou said.
Kings Island is not only known for its rides, but also their amazing food.
“The best thing about Kings Island is the blue ice cream. Something about it is just different and makes the whole experience so much better,” Economou said.
Economou has been to Kings Island many times, and every time she goes to the same place to eat.
“My favorite place to eat is at Snoopy Land. My go-to is a corn dog. We walked and stood for hours around the entire park for Post Prom because it was opening day and everything had lines,” Economou said.
Having a go-to place to eat is comforting for a place Skinner does not go to often.
“The best place to eat there is Tom & Chee. I usually get bacon grilled cheese. It’s right near the entrance so not too far of a walk,” Skinner said.
Although the walk was far, Lukins goes the distance for his favorite place to eat.
“Panda Express is my favorite place to eat at Kings island. I got a bowl with orange chicken, and I had to walk across the park to get it since I was in the back of the park before lunch,” Lukins said.
Not everyone has the same opinions on paying extra to avoid waiting in long lines. The fast pass is $85.
“ I paid extra for the fast pass, and I don’t think it was worth the money. I would’ve rather just waited in line. There were still lines for the people who had fast passes so there just wasn’t a point; it was just another line,” Skinner said.
The best memories do not always have to be riding rides, it can be moments that bring a group together.
“My favorite memory at Kings Island was when we were all so worn out and tired from walking around all morning so we took a nap in the cafeteria. When we woke up, we couldn’t stop laughing because it was so funny,” Economou said.
Lukins would get the meal pass again. Kings Island’s Single Meal Deal ranges in price from $16.99 to $120 for an All Season Dining plan.
“I have paid extra at Kings Island for the meal pass, which was nice since it allowed me to get drinks whenever I was thirsty and eat every few hours when I was hungry; it was definitely worth it,” Lukins said.
Having fun with friends provides great memories.
“My favorite memory at Kings Island is just riding the rides. All of my most memorable memories are riding with my friends and having fun,” Skinner said.
Memories where he got to experience it for the first time are Lukins favorites.
“My favorite memory at Kings island would definitely be getting to experience roller coasters for the first time, which was my first time at Kings Island. It is an overall amazing experience,” Lukins said.
