With Easter baskets filled to the brim, candy was as much a tradition as the holiday itself. Which candies lived up to their hype?
The Cadbury Creme Eggs were a hit. They are a classic Easter candy and were definitely a fan favorite. The chocolate cover was rich and was a satisfying mix with the creme inside the egg. It was a full and perfect ratio. On the other hand, it was unanimous that one egg was enough because of its rich consistency.
Next up was Reese’s white egg. Only half of the group enjoyed this treat. If people are not peanut butter or white chocolate fans, then this one is not recommended. It was agreed that the milk chocolate egg was a lot better than this one.
After that was the candy everyone was most skeptical about, the Dr. Pepper Peeps. They were different from anything else tried. Surprisingly, they tasted exactly like Dr. Pepper, but if it was flat. They were very sweet, so it was not hard to stop at eating only one. If someone enjoys Dr. Pepper, then this would be a great Easter treat for them.
The next treat was also an odd and unfamiliar Easter candy. The staff tried Easter Grass bubblegum. It was much like Big League Chew that people tend to enjoy at baseball games. It had a green color but a dominant pink bubblegum flavor. Although it had a strong instant flavor, it soon faded into nothing. It was short lived. This treat was the least favorite of the treats.
Finally, there were two different chocolates. The Russel Stover was filled with a rich caramel, and one was solid chocolate. The group loved the caramel-filled chocolate bunny because of how gooey the filling was. It was hard to break the bunny up to share because the caramel kept stringing out. The small solid chocolate Ghirardelli bunnies were a classic, so of course they were great for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Easter baskets and the Easter bunny are prominent symbols of Easter and the month of April. We hope Easter baskets were overflowing with the best goodies this holiday season.
