On Saturday, a group of friends wake up from last night’s sleepover with their minds on one thing… breakfast. The destination is already set. Greenwood’s new breakfast destination, Wild Eggs.
Located just off Emerson in the lot connected to Walmart lies a new breakfast eatery. Bustling at all times of day, Wild Eggs has already created a large fandom. When I arrived, I was greeted with a relatively short 15 minutes compared to the hour some customers must wait. However, this wait was extended by the front of house accidentally giving away my table as I was entering the restaurant to claim it. This inconvenience caused my expectations to automatically lower. However, after we were seated, that quickly changed.
Once seated, I was greeted with a colorful menu with well over two dozen choices. Among these choices, one stood out to my group: the breakfast lasagna, only being described as three pancakes stacked with cheese, sausage, and eggs separating them, along with a queso to pour over the whole stack. At first glance, the breakfast item is not the most appealing; it is quite the opposite. The saltiness of the sausage and the savory of the cheese mixed with the sweetness of pancake topped with the slight spice of the queso creates a perfect unison of flavors.
We also ordered their platter dish, which came with eggs, bacon, sausage, house potatoes, toast, and French toast. All were great and is a great option for anyone looking for a more traditional breakfast. As an appetizer, we ordered their shareable biscuits with bacon gravy, which were amazing- a perfect mix of creamy gravy and soft, fluffy biscuits. The one complaint I could have relating to food would be both the price and taste of the orange juice at Wild Eggs. It was very pulpy, and a small was a whopping $6.
The service and ambience at Wild Eggs was also wonderful with plenty of bubbly staff members walking around, aiding in anything we needed. The restaurant was very well-decorated with neon signs everywhere. Our waitress was friendly and even helped suggest some food items to try. The tables in the restaurant were seated close, promoting conversation while simultaneously allowing for privacy.
The restaurant as a whole had an incredible atmosphere, service, and food. It is a fast-growing restaurant and worth the trip for anyone who loves breakfast food. Overall, Wild Eggs receives a 9.1/10 on the Kramer Richter Scale. That solidifies an amazing three years of reviews from me.
