Freedom Springs is the place to be in the summer, and the reopening has a lot of people talking.
“The memories that I have there are priceless, and the one especially is where I went there the first time it opened with my dad and it was a lot of fun. We both went down the red slide together and it was one of my favorite memories with my dad,” sophomore Gabe Ward said.
Most have a memory that is special to them.
“It brings back a lot from my childhood just hanging out with my friends and having a good time. One time me and my friends played tag throughout the whole water park and this is probably one of my favorite moments at Freedom,” sophomore Gavin Arnold said.
Although the customers have a good time, the workers also have a good time in the waterpark.
“Working there during the summer is great. Everybody there is really nice, and it has really good management. The time where I knew that the staff was going to be like a family is when one of my co-workers needed help finding something to clean the concessions and everybody went out of their way to help him,” junior Braden Chase said.
The concessions are one of the reasons that this place is loved so much by so many.
“My favorite meal from the concession stand would definitely be their nachos and a blue slushy. This is always my go-to when I go there,” Ward said.
Other options are fan favorites, too.
“My favorite meal from the concessions has got to be the pretzel. I usually get a Sprite or something like that with it,” Arnold said.
Workers earn discounts and sometimes free items from the stand.
“Even though I don’t work concessions and I work admissions, I love to go over there and get the pretzel. It is by far my favorite thing from there,” Chase said.
Freedom has so much to do while people are there, and everybody has something that they like the most.
“My favorite thing to do at Freedom is definitely the diving boards because of the thrill of jumping off, except for the time I tried to do a backflip off of the high dive and I landed on my back ,” Ward said.
The diving boards are very loved at Freedom but there are still a lot of other things to do.
“The waterslides are probably my favorite because of how fast you can get going on them and the variety of different slides there are. As a kid, me and my friends used to go on the slides all the time and those are some memories I will never forget,” Arnold said.
While these are the things the customers love, there are also things that the workers love while there.
“I don’t really go there anytime but work, but I do love working there and the fact that I can just help out anyway I can to make sure people have a good time while there,” Chase said.
