A new controversy enters the field as kicker Justin Tucker is released by the Ravens because of disputable allegations.
Justin Tucker was known as one of the best kickers in the NFL. When the Baltimore Ravens recently released him, everyone was surprised even though the Ravens said it was a football decision. It turned out that Tucker is being investigated for an event that is the possible reason for releasing him. The NFL is currently investigating his massage therapy sessions that allegedly violated the misconduct rules.

“I think that it was a smart decision by the Ravens to release Tucker, but he was very talented,” freshman Alex Sizemore said.
There have been multiple massage therapists who have accused Tucker of inappropriate behavior during therapy sessions. This makes it seem like the Ravens are trying to cover up the situation by saying it was a football decision, but there has been plenty of evidence so far that has proved that Justin Tucker violated a rule. Tucker has denied these allegations, but very well-known and effective lawyers are representing the women who are accusing Tucker.
“I think that the fact that there have been a lot of women who have accused him makes it hard to prove that he did not do these things, so it is hard to disagree with the claims,” freshman Cooper Cridlin said.
There have been some factors that question the Ravens’ decision to release Tucker, such as the talent that Tucker has and what he has done for Baltimore. Tucker still holds the NFL records for longest made field goal (66 yards) and the highest career field goal percentage (89.1 percent). Despite these factors, most people still believe that the Ravens did not make a mistake.
“No, the Ravens did not make a mistake because the allegations are likely true, and it would have caused more trouble than good if they had kept him,” Sizemore said.
One thing that has added to the story of Tucker’s release is the fact that people believed that it was time to move away from him and look forward with their new rookie kicker, Tyler Loop. Despite the allegations, the Ravens stated that a new kicker was drafted and the team felt the need to move forward.
“No, the Ravens did not make a mistake; it was time to move on from Tucker,” Cridlin said.
There have been a lot of different thoughts about Tucker getting a second chance. There have been people who say that he should because of his talent, but there are others who think otherwise.
“If the allegations turn out to be true, then he should not get a second chance. Although if proven innocent, then yes,” junior Anthony Scaramazzo said.
One thing that makes people think that he should not get a second chance is that he has been accused by so many people. And the fact that the Ravens released him does not help his case.
“He should not get a second chance because he most likely committed these accusations because of his release, hence the probability of the allegations being true,” sophomore Eli Martin said.
