After the last person crossed that line it wasn’t the end of a season but the beginning of many memories
When asked why he suddenly joined track, sophomore Zac Wehnert stayed to his roots.
“I just wanted to stay in shape for band,” Wehnert said.

Even for a multi-sport athlete, track had a bigger impact on him than he would ever have thought.
“I am excited to see if I am in the bigger meets next week, but if I’m not in those, my season is over,” Wehnert said.
These are the moments that can really define a person and their track careers.
“I stayed in track because I have done it since forever,” junior Marin Burton said.
As a little kid, freshman Lylah Wallischeck was getting to learn track and like a lot of people, fell in love with the sport.
“I joined track because I was good at it in middle school and wanted to test my ability with better athletes,” said Wallischeck.
Traveling around the nation to compete only compelled senior Henry Barrett to strive for greatness.
“My favorite part of this season was going to New York for Nike Indoor Nationals,” Barrett said.
With his senior season on the line, Henry had to get his name out to the rest of the state so he can feel his dreams come to life.
“I’m looking forward to competing at sectionals and hopefully advancing to state,” Barrett said.
