Two Hands Corn Dogs is a Korean specialty corn dog restaurant located off US 31 across from First Watch. It has been around for a year but has been picking up more attention due to clever advertisements and novel products.
The first thing guests notice is the simple and modern orange and white theming. The exterior is nothing special but is on the corner of the strip mall which makes the business more prominent. The restaurant is next to Kung Fu Tea, a Chinese bubble tea place, and Kabuto, a Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar.
Two Hands serves seven different breading options, and customers can customize the inside contents. Customers are given the option of a sausage or cheese filling, half and half is an option as well. Customers have a choice between chicken and beef sausage as well as spicy sausage. As a complete newcomer, I tried to order a variety within the three dogs I tried. I tried the classic combo which came with three dogs: spicy, classic, and Two Hands. I got one with all cheese, one sausage, and one half and half. I also ordered a fruit punch slush drink; altogether the total was $23.21.
I started with the slushy. It tasted just like any other slushy; the only difference was that it had a strong after taste. I enjoyed it, but for $4.49, it’s not anything new or special enough to be worth the price tag. The drink came out first from a machine, and the dogs came out hot a few minutes later.
The first dog to try was the classic, It was described as a classic Korean take on corn dogs with a twist. I came to find out that this twist was covering it in sugar and ketchup. I did end up enjoying this dog. It had melted mozzarella cheese inside, and it had a unique flavor similar to a mozzarella stick.
The second of the group was the spicy corndog. Based on first looks, this was the most intimidating of the bunch. It was dark red and covered in hot Cheetos crumbs and spicy mayo sauce. I took one bite. And it had an enjoyable kick but nothing too hot; however, the hotdog itself was dry and took away from the overall taste and experience. I would recommend ordering cheese filling for this one.
Finally, I got to the last dog. Two Hands was the name. A very inconspicuous dog, the name did not reveal much, and neither did the description. Stating it was a classic dog with their classic seasoning and creamy ranch. I ordered mine half cheese and half sausage. The classic seasoning was underwhelming. I enjoyed the half cheese and half sausage and would say it is the best way to order from here. However the bread was so bland that it was my least favorite of the whole experience.
Overall, Two Hands did not blow me away, but it also did not feel like a let down. I enjoyed the experience and would say it is worth trying at least once or twice. I would definitely like to go back and try the ones I missed out on the first time.
