The Summer I Turned Pretty is a rising show on Amazon Prime, where a girl is caught in between a love triangle between two brothers. But who is the better brother?

Conrad Fisher, the eldest boy in the Fisher family, is known for being mysterious, dark, athletic, and handsome. He is seen as misunderstood and keeps to himself. Conrad’s feelings are complicated. He is protective of the people he loves. Throughout this season he is trying to navigate his feelings and not distancing himself from the people he loves. Although, that makes it complicated when his brother is engaged to the only girl he has ever loved.

Jeremiah, on the other hand, is the youngest Fisher boy, who is mostly Conrad’s opposite. Jeremiah is the life of the party, warm and friendly, more open than Conrad. He is known as approachable and all the girls want him, while Conrad is sheltered and keeps to himself, which makes him seem unapproachable. Jeremiah is often, from their father Adam’s point of view, in Conrad’s shadow. The two brothers are in love with Belly, which makes it complicated for Belly to choose which brother will have her heart.

Conrad wins over fans’ hearts throughout this season by wearing his heart on his sleeve.

“My favorite brother is Conrad. He is someone to look for in a real-life situation. In the show, he always had genuine feelings for Belly. The night before the wedding he was told that Jeremiah cheated on Belly so he went and told her himself thinking she didn’t know. Then, he ends up expressing his feelings towards her, leading to the next episode of Jeremiah and Belly canceling the wedding,” freshman Kenna Rosebrock said.

Although the popular opinion is that Conrad is the favorite brother, senior Ameera Hooks has a different view.

“My favorite brother is Jeremiah mainly because he isn’t always playing the victim like Conrad, especially this season about the wedding even though years ago he could have fought for belly,” Hooks said.

Senior Landon Vaziri may have just started watching the show, but his opinions are strong.

“The best brother in my opinion is Conrad. Conrad has shown Belly time and time again that he is there for her and always will be. He always shows up when she needs him. He does things he shouldn’t have to do like making her dinner every night, taking her to Michaels and cake stores to get wedding stuff when that is his brother’s job. But since Conrad loves Belly, he would do anything for her,” Vaziri said.

Junior Caiya Evans said Conrad’s intentions are most genuine.

“My favorite brother this season is Conrad because he has shown up and he puts Belly first. Like when he was planning to leave, he immediately canceled after seeing Belly cry, choosing to stay with her instead. He also took her to Michael’s even though he already had other things to do and that wasn’t his job, wasn’t his wedding, but he chose to do it for Belly,” Evans said.

Most people were Team Jeremiah until he showed his true colors.

“Jeremiah has gone back and forth throughout the whole show picking and choosing when he wants Belly. I was team Jeremiah before this season came out because they seemed so in love, but those feelings changed when I found out he cheated on her and then asked her to marry him at the hospital when her brother was in critical condition,” Rosebrock said.

Hooks likes both brothers; one brother steals the show for her.

“I don’t dislike Conrad when I say I’m team Jeremiah. I’m just saying that Jeremiah is better in a relationship because he doesn’t play the victim and he doesn’t throw away his love for his brother until the end like Conrad did so many times over a relationship,” Hooks said.

Not everyone likes the same brother.

“In my opinion, Jeremiah is too cringy. I’ve felt this way since Season 1. Jeremiah just makes weird comments that are weird or when Belly and Jeremiah were preparing for the deb ball and he starts dancing and trying to be the center of attention. I personally just do not like Jeremiah for Belly. They seem like they would be better friends than a couple,” Vaziri said.

The brothers fight for Belly’s love, but Caiya can see which brother had true feelings.

“I haven’t always been on Conrad’s side. Last season, I was actually on Jeremiah’s side. Jeremiah seemed to treat Belly better because he put Belly first then, but this season, Conrad’s feelings are more real,” Evans said.

Kenna said Conrad has the sincerest love for Belly.

“I feel Conrad has the best intentions with Belly and has expressed his feelings the most for her. He’s shown her multiple times why she should choose him and how he is in love with her. Belly mentioned in the show that whenever she needed him, Conrad was there for her, and he always is. When she wasn’t eating because Laurel wasn’t coming to the wedding, he made it apparent to make her meals and then went out of his way to convince Laurel to come to the wedding and make up with Belly,” Rosebrock said.

Hooks’ stance on Jeremiah is strong.

“I’ve been pretty consistent with my stance on being on Jeremiah’s side, but this season Conrad started to win me over because I felt bad for him. Then, I realized when Jeremiah told Conrad that he gave him a chance and he didn’t take it and now Conrad just comes back years later and expects everyone to feel bad for him and pick him. I am back on Jeremiah’s side forever now,” Hooks said.

Hooks said Jeremiah has made mistakes but has proven his genuine love for Belly.

“I do believe Conrad has genuine feelings for Belly but just doesn’t know how to show them well and often handles it the wrong way. I also know Jeremiah has been in the wrong, but he also has proved many times he has genuine feelings for Belly. Honestly, I don’t like Belly at all. She plays the brothers so I hope she stays in Paris alone and Jeremiah finds love that is not connected to his brother,” Hooks said.

Making his opinion stronger throughout the show, Vaziri’s thoughts on Conrad and Belly are more secure.

“I have always been Team Conrad since I first started watching the show with my girlfriend. Conrad and Belly have had chemistry and have had feelings for each other since they were kids, while as Jeremiah only started liking Belly the summer she turned pretty. Conrad has always had feelings for Belly and the only reason they broke up at Prom was because Susannah was dying and Conrad shut down,” Vaziri said.

Viewers are drawn to true feelings.

“I think Conrad has the most genuine feelings for Belly because of his patience and loyalty. He waited four years thinking about her and staying out of relationships which shows how much he respects her and their relationship, while Jeremiah on the other hand, they were separated for two days and he cheated on her twice,” Evans said.
