To close out the fall sports season, senior Lily Rollings will hang up her spikes tomorrow after the state meet and the football team will prepare to take on ____ in the first round of sectionals next week.
This fall sports season will be the last time fall sports compete in the Mid-State confrence. Athletes used this as motivation to achieve many winning records this season.
The boys and girls cross country teams held their ground against larger schools in the county and conference. Top runner Jack Simenski, junior, rose to 11th on the all time list with a time of 16:31. Senior Lily Rollings smashed the school record with a time of 17:47. The girls team also had __ runners advance to the regional meet.
The girls golf team was small in numbers this year, but managed to have a victory against Greenwood Christian Academy.
The girls volleyball team successfully placed fourth in the Mid-State, with seniors Addie Rosebrock, Isabella Register, and Victoria Ortman leading the team.
The new boys tennis coach, Trey Graft, led the team to a record of 7-12, with seniors Aiden Walton, Thomas Satterfield, and Mani Naraini paving the way for the growing team.
The girls soccer team, also led by a new coach, Mason Edlund, ended their season against Columbus North. The girls held a winning record of 10-5-1 during the regular season. The team will be saying goodbye to six seniors.
The boys soccer team placed second in the Mid-State conference and fell to Roncalli in the first round of sectionals. However, they put up a tough fight the rest of the season with a record of 8-5-4.
The boys football team kept the school spirit up, winning the homecoming game against Perry Meridian. Friday Night Lights attracted many students to cheer on the Woodmen.
