Valentine’s Day is coming, and even the teachers celebrate.
Some restaurants celebrate this day by redecorating or offering special menu items, such as White Castle.
“I was reading a book about the history of fast food, and in this section, it said White Castle does this special thing for Valentine’s Day. I convinced my wife to make a reservation to White Castle. Servers were in dress clothes. They had a special menu. They bring in tablecloths and candles and play some romantic music. If you tell your significant other you’re taking them to White Castle for Valentine’s Day, a fight would probably happen. There are more luxurious things, but I would rather have a more unique experience than the common fare of going to a more expensive restaurant,” Mr. Derek Fischer, FACS teacher, said.
If fast food does not sound good, a more intimate location like Iozzo’s could work.
“We went to Iozzo’s on Jefferson in Franklin. It opened last year on Valentine’s Day. My husband and I don’t do Valentine’s dinner, but we wanted to have dinner with just the two of us. I would recommend it because it’s a nice smaller restaurant so it gives you more of a quiet intimate feel, not a bustling Applebee’s. It gives you more of a comfortable feel for whoever your date is,” Mrs. Laura Kuntz, English teacher, said.
For Ashley Smithey, English teacher, Valentine’s Day has been a special day to temporarily escape the duties of her home life.
“I chose Vito Provolone’s because their food is wonderful and I have always received great service. If you hope for an Italian dining experience, this would be a great choice for you. There were no deals for couples when I went, but I went on the weekend instead of the actual day off for Valentine’s day. We really enjoyed it because we were able to go without our child. We both adore our daughter, but sometimes it is nice not to have to tailor conversations to be based around a kid,” Mrs. Smithey said.
