Every year in February, fans tune in for the largest sporting event in the nation: the Super Bowl. Every viewer knowledgable or not has their predictions on who will lift the Lombardi Trophy.
Faculty and students all have their personal predictions for the big game, even if it is the sixth seed like the Bills.
“There are many teams that I’m thinking will not make the super bowl and definitely not the Bears in the NFC. But in the NFC, Coach Sean Mccvay and the Rams are my dark horse. Same with 49ers. I got to say that the Bills look like they are the best in th AFC and will make the Super Bowl. For the NFC, I think it’ll be the Seahawks. My prediction then is Bills and Seahawks 27-24 with the Bills winning it all,”Mr. Jeremy Runge, social studies teacher, said.
Many students have also decided that their biases will play a part in their Super Bowl predictions and many have their favorite teams winning it all.
“I already know who is winning the Super Bowl. My Patriots all the way. Drake Maye and them will take home the seventh Super Bowl in New England. My matchup prediction is the Patriots and the Rams with the Patriots winning it all,” junior James Hurley said.
Out of the 14 teams and eight different divisions in the NFL, one division stands out the most.
“I think it is my prediction that it will be one of the three teams from the NFC West. The Rams while they are the five seed have kept it close with the Seahawks, the Number 1 team in both of their games. It makes me think that in their possible third matchup, they will win and advance to the Super Bowl,” junior Aiden Worgess said.
Another student believes in a Cinderella story for the seventh seed.
“I think that the Packers could win the Super Bowl this year. I think an underdog story is interesting and also they have the same logo as Greenwood so I think that is good luck as well,” Freshman Kenna Rosebrock said.
There is a lot to look forward to this playoffuary for NFL and a team’s addition of the Lombardi Trophy awaits.
“Other than my prediction, I think I would love to see a team win their first Super Bowl in the history of their franchise. The Panthers could win their first as well as the Texans, Jaguars, Chargers, and Bills. Seeing either of these teams win this year would be great for the sport and their team’s culture,” Worgess said.
