For the upcoming Super Bowl, I have a total of two distinct playoff predictions. One includes my favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning it all and giving Aaron Rodgers his second Super Bowl on a team that was counted out to lose since Day One, and one is a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, which includes Patriots vs Seahawks, an elite Super Bowl rivalry.
I have had many Super Bowl fantasies of my Steelers making their 9th Super Bowl appearance this year. The Steelers barely edged their way into the playoffs this season with a 26-24 thriller against division rivals, The Baltimore Ravens. After multiple lead changes in the fourth quarter, the game ended with a game-losing missed field goal by Ravens’ kicker Tyler Loop. The Steelers walked off the field with a win and claimed the title of AFC North champions.
This season has been a tough one for the Steelers, but they have been able to show that they are a contending team for a Super Bowl. Steelers play the Texans in the first round. If they win, they are set to slide into the Super Bowl as this year’s AFC is looking wide open for any team. If the Steelers offense is able to allow for wide receiver DK Metcalf and Rodgers to play well together, then this team is destined to reach the Super Bowl. This prediction has the Steelers vs Bears which could be a classic.
The Bears in the NFC are the most competitive team that will not quit when games are close. I could see the Bears sliding through the NFC to meet the Steelers at Super Bowl LX. For this prediction, I have the Steelers winning a close one 31-27.
My other prediction for the Super Bowl is that the Patriots will ease through the AFC playoffs as they have one of the most efficient offenses in the NFL. QB Drake Maye is an MVP candidate and destined to prove himself as a young player in the playoffs. This Patriots will reach the Super Bowl for the first time since Tom Brady won in 2019.
I believe that storylines in the NFL is what always ends up occurring. This leads me to believe that the Seahawks will sweep the entire NFC playing mostly division rivals in the playoffs to meet the Patriots. The Super Bowl XLIX rematch would feed generations with an amazing game that would make up for the controversial 1 yard line Malcolm Butler interception that ended the Seahawks season in 2014.
Ultimately, my final prediction for the Super Bowl is Seahawks beating the Patriots 28-24.
