While Stranger Things has been a global phenomenon, the gap between Seasons 4 and 5 has left viewers to make predictions of their own.
With season five being the big finale, there have been many rumors about who is going to die in the upcoming season.
“I think Eleven is going to die because she makes the whole show so it makes sense that it would end with her dying. I think Steve is going to die too because he is like the babysitter of the kids, and they’re growing up now. They don’t need him as much,” sophomore Miya Hornaday said.
Other students have similar thoughts. Freshman Yedniel Melendez Suarez also thinks that Eleven is going to die.
“Eleven will probably sacrifice herself for her friends. Will and Mike might try to stop her, and they will all end up dying,” Melendez Suarez said.
Season 5 has been built up through ads, trailers, and cast interviews.
“This season will definitely meet my expectations because the trailers have been amazing. The advertisement on social media has been really good, too. The last episode is going to be in the theaters, so the Duffer Brothers must be confident,” Hornaday said.
Fans have loved the previous four seasons, so the bar for Season 5 is very high. sophomore Mandy Bik said that the bar may be set too high, though.
“I’ve seen so much hype about the new season, and when shows are super built up, they usually don’t meet everyone’s expectations. I don’t think it’ll be as good as everyone thinks,” Bik said.
There are so many theories circulating about how the story is going to end.
“I think for most of the season, Will is going to be with Vecna, maybe in a trance. They’re going to have to defeat Vecna somehow, and I think it’ll be when he comes out of the Vecna mold as Henry,” Hornaday said.
Stranger Things has many beloved characters, and everyone watching wants to know what their favorite characters fates will be.
“I like Hopper, but if Eleven dies, he’ll probably be really upset and depressed. I don’t think he’ll have a good ending,” Melendez Suarez said.
While Melendez Suarez said that his favorite character will have an unhappy ending, other students are thinking more optimistically.
“My favorite character is Dustin. I think he’ll live, but he’ll come out of everything with something wrong with him, probably mentally. Even if that happens, he’ll find a way to be happy in the end,” Hornaday said.
Bik also hopes her favorite character will end up with a nice ending.
“My favorite character is Lucas. I hope that he’ll live and end up with Max if she also lives,” Bik said.
Many people have been rewatching previous seasons to refresh their memory and to see their favorite seasons once again.
“My favorite season was Season 4. It is just nostalgic because it was the summer of 2022 and everyone was watching it,” Melendez Suarez said
