After the major success of the original Disney classic Zootopia, Disney and its fans knew that there was more of a story to be told between the bunny and fox. The duo’s chemistry is translated into their second movie as the two take on a new challenge in Zootopia.
As a kid, I remember enjoying my first watch of Zootopia because that was when it was fun to watch a movie the day it came out in theaters. I remember going with my parents to see Zootopia, and I walked out thinking that it was one of the best Disney movies and still is to this day. The first movie to me was incredibly nostalgic and was one of those movies that stuck with me as I grew up. In general, the first movie was a classic, and the second one definitely gave it a run for its money.
Since I was in the fifth grade, I have been an uncle, and now I am an uncle of 5. Like I previously said, I highly appreciated watching the first Zootopia when it came out, and as I got older, I began to watch it with my nieces and nephews. It was our go-to movie when I would have to babysit or watch them while my sisters were gone. It was only fitting that I would go see this movie with my mom and all my nieces and nephews. We went on Thanksgiving morning, and we got good seats for it, just recently coming out. Everyone had their own spot, and each one of my nieces and nephews was excited to see if Zootopia 2 would live up to its hype. The oldest of my nieces and nephews, Lincoln, who is five years old, was so excited to finally be able to watch the second part of one of his favorite movies. I was the same, and as we entered the theater, we felt a wave of excitement as we were finally watching the sequel to one of our favorite and memorable movies.
I was expecting the movie to pick up where it left off in the first one, which is exactly what had happened. Since it followed the original story, it was an instant hook. The duo of characters was exciting. By the end of the movie, I was thoroughly enjoying it, and I was happy I decided to watch it with my nieces and nephews. They loved it, and it was similar to how I was as a kid when I first saw Zootopia. I expected a movie that would be just as good as the first one, and it definitely reached that goal for me. Lincoln thought the same as I did, and he loved the idea that a third movie was coming out after.
In all, I thought this was an amazing movie for being a kids’ movie. I thought it touched up well on the old movie and gave it a run for its money. I recommend this movie to everyone to at least watch it and see how it compares to the first Zootopia.
