Peeps is a classic Easter treat, but the taste can be repetitive. Peeps has come out with new, out of the box flavors within the past few years to spice things up.
We tried four different bizarre Peeps flavors. We tasted the Dr. Pepper, Rice Krispies, watermelon, and finally the Pop Tart frosted Strawberry Peep. Though these flavors are unconventional, they could become anyone’s favorite.
The first one we tried was the Pop Tart Frosted Strawberry. Our reviews were mixed with a rating out of 10 ranging from 4-8. It was pink and smelled like fruit to match the frosted strawberry theme. The taste was also like strawberry also icing.
The next Peep we tasted was the Dr. Pepper Peep. This mostly was based on whether or not we liked Dr. Pepper. Our ratings were split down the middle. A couple of us rated it a 10, while another described it as “God awful.” It did taste like Dr. Pepper, but the marshmallow from the peep made it like a Dr. Pepper float.
We tried Rice Krispies, and it was the overall favorite. The ratings ranged from 7-8. They tasted like the rice krispie cereal and were colored the same. The taste was not too overpowering, but also was not underwhelming.
The final flavor was the group’s least favorite. The flavor was watermelon. The highest rating was a 3 and the worst was a 1. The Peeps are green and the flavors are similar to watermelon, just more strong. In general, people’s opinions on it may varied because the tastes are so much more powerful and different than the other three flavors.
We all had different opinions on the weird Peeps, but our defining opinions were based off of if we like the flavor in general.
