In winter’s cold and stale darkness, the blissful voices of Ghs’ choir prance through the air, spreading joy and glee to the people of Greenwood.

“ I think caroling is a pretty enjoyable experience. It is pretty fun going outside with everybody, even though it is freezing. We have so much fun I usually forget about the weather. We grab each other and just start dancing, so it’s great,” junior Ben Christner said.

Along with Christner, Trevor Capien went along with the choir for the first time.

“It is my first time going caroling with the choir. I have thought about going before, but it has usually been way too cold. But I am glad that I went this year. It was nice being around all of my friends,” Capien said.

Although his new arrival this year in high school, Capien is not a newbie in spreading joy through song.

“ I started choir in the 5th grade because it was a required class. But after middle school, it was not required anymore. I stayed because I realized I enjoyed the environment and the people. Then I got here, tried out, and got into the Rhapsody. It is the level right under Jade, which is the highest,” freshman Capien said.

He reveals his favorite part of the experience.

“ The best part was when we saw Santa. He let us all huddle up and take a big group picture with him, which really topped the night off for me,” freshman Capien said.

Junior Reese Kenny also joined in this holiday fun. She was excited to demonstrate some of her favorite songs.

“ We sang the normal Christmas songs you would usually hear yearly.  We sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, and Winter wonderland. Just stuff like that,” Reese Kenney said.

The Ghs choir brought joy to many through the power of their voices, and with that they also had a joyful and fun time.

“It was a lot of fun. We went to a Christmas market. I forgot where it was, but it was really fun to sing with my friends,” Kenney said.
