New Year Resolutions

This new year means new resolutions

“Big goals for me are to spend more time with my family, be healthier, and take care of myself a little bit more,” Mr. Daniel Appelbaum, chemistry teacher, said.

People are already thinking of ways to better their lives to make themselves happier and less stressed.

“My main goal for the new year is to cut back on sugar and focus on my physical health,” Mrs. Laura Kuntz, English teacher, said.

Many people want to change their eating habits or unhealthy ways in the new year to get a fresh start.

“I would like to break a few school records for swimming and get my grades back up but mostly pass Spanish,” freshman Emmanuel Jackson said.

It is good to also have goals that are challenging and will guarantee success.

“I want to blow up on YouTube because I just recently started a channel with my friends so we want to become famous and make an impact,” senior Kyrin York said.

It is important to know that not every goal has to be like everyone else’s. New year’s resolutions should be all about personal growth and not other people’s expectations.

“I want to get more involved in after school workouts, and I want to push myself because I feel that it would improve my performance in sports,” sophomore Lillian Roell said.

There are many ways that students here can work on bettering themselves for their sport.

“These goals are both timely and immediate because it’s easy to make the immediate change, and then obviously the effects of the change will come over time,” Mr. Appelbaum said.

It is important to remember that not every goal set will be an immediate change.

“We promote our channel and post whenever we can so we can get more followers and recognition,” York said.

A way to speed up the process is by implementing them in everyday life so that they become habits and it is not hard to remember them.

“I plan on going to keep showing up to practices and work as hard as I can, and for Spanish, I am going to turn all of my assignments in on time and not procrastinate,” Jackson said.
