IMC conducts book drive for good cause

The IMC is hosting a book drive until Feb. 1 to help Teachers Treasurers. Students and staff can take these to the IMC.

The book drive is a request from Dr. Terry Terhune, superintendent.

“Dr. Terhune requested we donated the books we don’t use to Teachers Treasurers. After seeing how much it can help, doing a book drive seemed fitting for the IMC.  Teachers Treasurers mainly looks for primary level books,” Mrs. Annie Rhienhart, district librarian, said.

Teachers Treasurers is a local charity in Indiana to help underfunded schools. They secure and give out school supplies for free to Marion County in-need teachers.

“Teachers Treasurers is a nonprofit charity group that people donate anything from crayons to school supplies, but mainly books. There are no restrictions Teachers Treasurers takes adult books, picture books, but we are mainly looking for non-English and picture books,” Mrs. Faith Stapleton, librarian, said.

This is a great opportunity for students and staff to get rid of their old books.

“This is a good opportunity for our community to help out other communities. Everybody has books that they cycle through so instead of giving them to other thrift stores, this is an opportunity,” Mrs. Stapleton said.
