Airforces, Dunks, Jordan 1’s, and New Balances are the newest trends in the shoe game.

 Unlike most students, freshman Davion Jones has a more expensive taste in trendy sneakers.

“My favorite pair of trendy sneakers are my Alexander Mcqueen’s. They are one of the most expensive sneakers I have purchased; they were $600,and I wear them to fancy dinners and whenever I go somewhere nice,”Jones said.

Some people not only buy sneakers they also sell them for extra money on the side. Senior Jude Thompson enjoys selling sneakers..

“I got really interested in shoes when I started selling them to make extra money to save up for a car. I think my shoes make the whole outfit better, and you can just use them to make your outfit different from everybody else,” Thompson said. 

Junior Travarius Nolan’s reason is completely different. 

“I got really into shoes when I started playing basketball because NBA players have a different pair of shoes on basically every game. So when I started getting really into basketball, that’s when I got super interested in shoes,” Nolan said.

Though most students like the trendy sneakers some have different opinions about the trending sneakers.

“My least favorite shoe trend is Rick Owens because they are just a more expensive version of Converse. I could basically get the same thing for a few hundred dollars less, and Converse just look way better than Rick Owens in my opinion.”Nolan said.

There are a lot of different reasons why some people got interested in shoes but Jones’ reason stands out.

“I have been interested in shoes since I can remember. My mom has always bought me shoes that are different from other kids shoes. Which got me started on buying different shoes from everyone else,” Jones said.
