Concert experiences over the top

GHS students are caught in a once-in-a-lifetime experience as fans crowd together, singing along, and jumping, around.

One student has a reason to attract envy after having floor seats at Drake.

“I used my money from my summer job to buy tickets to the Drake show in October that got postponed to February. We had to stand for like five hours, but it was so worth it because my friend Aubrey and I were right at the gate. It was a one-of-a-kind experience, and I’d do anything to go back to that time,” sophomore Renner Grable said. “The most memorable moment was when J. Cole came out and started performing. I’m a huge Drake fan. He’s my No. 1, but I feel J. Cole is just a better performer. When he was singing, everyone just got louder and more excited.”

Senior Cohen Bright takes concert-going seriously and has had some of the most unique experiences at a cost.

“I’ve been to 22 concerts in counting, seven VIP tickets, and in total, I’ve spent around $6,000 on tickets,” Bright said, “ My favorite memory has to be meeting Sabrina Carpenter and her telling me my decode tattoo was cute,”

Senior Katie Newett has had many different concert experiences.

“I’ve been to Post Malone and Big Time Rush recently, but before that, I went to One Direction, Maddie and Tae, and Justin Bieber. Within the next couple weeks, I will also be going to Drake, Niki Minaj, and Tate Mcrae,” Newett said. “My favorite memory was probably at Big Time Rush when the band came over to me and my friends and sang to us.”

The Eras Tour is the highest-grossing tour in all of history.

My show got rain-delayed, and it ended up being a really great time. We were there for like three or four hours and got free food and drinks. We met different people while we waited in a beer closet for the rain to stop, and then after, we got to see an amazing show. It ended up being a good thing because it made the experience last longer, and my friends and I had a very memorable time,” junior Elinor Guipe said.

The memories made at concerts are some of the most valued and interesting.

“I think seeing Drake was the most memorable because the energy was so crazy. It was like 17,000 people just all hyped and singing,” sophomore Eliana Anderson said.
