Kanye album review “Vultures”

Kanye Wests’ career has seemed to be over for a long while now with questionable acts and speeches. But West came back unexpectedly with his brand new album “Vultures” leading him to N.1 on the Billboard Top 200.

Kanye West has always had some of the best production in the music industry, and fans of his have long awaited and craved new music from him. To put into perspective how big this album’s release is, I have never been one to listen to his music, but I know that every time he drops something there will be at least one hit on the album. Therefore, that album is worth giving a listen.

There has been one song that stands out the most to anyone who looks at the albums stats; by far the song with the most streams is CARNIVAL. The song starts off with a crowd of Italian soccer fans chanting something that I cannot write in this newspaper but then leads to one of the most goose bump-inducing beat drops I have ever heard. Later in the song, a feature comes on that not many people expected, but when I hear something change in the beat I know it is going to be Playboi Carti. His verse is so good on this song; he brought back the deep voice of Carti a couple of times, and everything about this song is stunning. People are already naming it song of the year.

Now, there are some downsides in this album. The album is 16 songs long, and not many of them are super memorable. With that being said, I am going to name the most memorable songs.

Back To Me. This song has a lot of bop-ability, being fast paced. The flow by Kanye and Freddie Gibbs is impeccable. My favorite part of this song is definitely the sample they took from a movie. It is funny, and it did make me giggle a little and rewind the song to make sure what I heard was correct.

STARS. It is quite the opposite of the last song, being very slow and having a choir in the background. It sounds like it would be a song on the album Jesus is King, but we got it on Vultures. It is calming and something nice to hear after all the aggressive rap.

PAPERWORK. This song has the best production I have ever heard hands down. The beat switches are outstanding, and there is a part that sounds like it is in a racing video game. It is so cool.

With all this being said, the album was okay although having 16 songs, I have forgotten about a lot of them already. I know some people are die-hard Kanye fans, but as the average listener, I think I am going to give this album a 7.5 out of 10. It is rumored it is a trilogy with two more Vultures albums to be released so hopefully he can redeem himself on those.
