Bowling team season ends

Bowling+team+season+ends

The bowling team had a striking season with hopes to do it again next year.

“The season was good, and there was lots of improvement between the previous team members and the new ones,” sophomore Mya Gardener said.

Everyone on the team worked their hardest to have the best season for themselves and their teammates.

“I hit my PR for bowling. At the beginning of the season, it would’ve been a 90, but towards the end, it was a 180,” freshman Trever Capien said.

The team had practices twice a week at Highway Lanes in Franklin

“I didn’t have any goals that I set or hit any, but I did do better than last year which was good and made me feel accomplished,” senior Megyn Hurt said.

It is important to not only set goals to improve but also to make sure it is a memorable experience.

“My favorite memory was the last tournament because we were all together hanging out and it was just really fun for everybody and a good environment,” Hurt said.

It is easy for freshmen to be scared going into their first high school sport season not knowing the competition or the pace of the game.

“Some advice for newcomers is do not stress or overthink it. Just relax, have fun, and make the most of it because it goes by fast. If you do bad at one tournament, then don’t stress over it because there’s more that will come and more chances,” Hurt said.

Although it is important to have fun, that does not mean to forget about personal goals.

“I accomplished at least one of my goals that I set, which was to break 200 in either a practice or meet, and I actually ended up getting a 217 in practice,” Gardner said.

Overall, the team is stoked about their performance and ready to go into next season hard to have an even better one.

“I’m ready to meet new people as we get new freshmen and work together and have fun so we can have another fun season,” Capien said.
